K.B. Fuller

K.B. Fuller has long been fascinated by the ancient world and by the lives of ordinary people who lived thousands of years ago. Her travels have taken her to ancient sites in Egypt, China, and elsewhere, while weekends spent hiking and camping in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia gave her an appreciation for the natural world—and for what it takes to live without the comforts of modern civilization.

Her interest in ancient peoples, archaeology, and military history eventually led her to the Bronze Age steppe and the remarkable people archaeologists call the Sintashta. Her novel Chariot Brothers, the first book in the Sons of the Sintashta series, grew from research into their fortified settlements, horses, weapons, beliefs, and some of the world’s earliest known spoke-wheeled chariots.

K.B. Fuller worked as a mechanical engineer and later as a medical-surgical nurse. She lives with her husband in the Northeastern United States.

When she isn’t writing, she is usually researching some obscure corner of the ancient world, planning another journey, or wondering what it might really have felt like to stand beneath the enormous sky of the Bronze Age steppe.
