artisan work

These are some representations of the amazing artwork I saw during my trip when I was able to visit the Taithan colony world of Berilia. The planet, or at least the particular landmass that the colony is on, has an abundance of material for craftsmen to work with. Even with my annoyingly short stay, I was able to see what a great importance art, as well as song and dance, and poetry too, has on this relatively small group of people. I think I did a fair job of recreating the examples I saw. -Dr. D. Arguile, PhD. Professor of anthropology.

Gold, along with other precious metals and gems, abound on this planet. This representation of a creature that inhabits this planet was made by local artisans. The style is close to what is made on the home world, but as so often happens in human history, the colony has begun to take its art forms in new directions. -D.A.

Another representation of a inhabitant of this planet, fashioned into a brooch made to fasten a woman’s cloak. – D.A.

I was stunned when I saw this decorative piece. The similarities between this piece and that made from some ancient steppe people of Earth hold great ramifications, I believe, for the histories of all peoples. This particular piece represents mythological creatures from the deep past of Taithan myth. I will delve into this much more in a planned upcoming book, to be written when I get back to Earth. -D.A.
